Introduction

There is an increasing group of 'older' (45+) employees within UPS, who are not always physically and/or mentally capable of carrying out the work they have always done. In addition, UPS has the ambition to look for the tasks and responsibilities that best suit someone, taking into account each individual’s skills. This way every employee can contribute maximally to the business objectives of UPS.

Tasks / Output

You will investigate the best way(s) to keep employees healthy and motivated, in our operational warehouse environment, until their retirement age. We are looking for answers to a number of questions: 1. What is the physical and mental capacity of (older) employees? 2. What are the limitations with regard to the capacity of the (older) employee in relation to the actual capacity that is asked of them? 3. What possibilities are there within UPS to eliminate or minimize the gap between actual and desired capacity of (older) employees?

The output of your research will be a recommendation for a feasible process and/or tool for sustainable employability within UPS, taking into account the physical and mental capacity of employees.


Requirements

You do a bachelor Human Resource Management / Personnel and Labor. We expect you to have a critical, independent, decisive and inquiring attitude. A good proficiency of the English and Dutch language is required due to the international population within UPS.

Working conditions

During the time of your assignment you will receive a laptop and an internship compensation of
€ 340,- based on 40 hours a week.
